🌙 Current Moon Phase: First Quarter 🌙
The First Quarter Moon can be used in rituals related to taking action toward your goals. The intentions you set during the New Moon are help actions, ideas and desires to take root.
It is also great for building energy towards something. This quarter, I am building energy toward the Norse álfablót occuring after the upcoming full moon.

🔮 Lunar Look Ahead 🔮
Full Hunter’s Moon in Aries
Date: Wednesday, October 17th
We’re building up to the Full Hunter’s Moon in Aries. This full moon brings the fierce, bold energy of the ram. Aries represents action, courage, and independence, making this Full Moon the perfect time to break through barriers and go after what you want with confidence. Seize any opportunities you have been holding back on taking.
Full Moon Ritual: Harnessing Aries Energy
What You’ll Need:
Red candle
Small bowl of water (to create moon water)
A sharp tool (for carving your intentions)
A crystal (optional but helpful)
Instructions:
Carve your intention into the red candle. Light it, imagining your goal manifesting with the flame. Alternatively carve a rune representing what you are manifesting, or a sigil.
Place your bowl of water under the Full Moon’s light to charge it, focusing on your intention while doing so.
The next morning, pour your charged moon water into the earth, trusting it will send your intention into the universe to manifest.
Weekly Community Tarot Pull
Each week I alternate between runes and tarot. This week’s communal tarot reading:
Page of Swords (Reversed) – (Sign: Aquarius) – My interpretation: Impulsiveness, scattered energy, and the potential spread of misinformation. This is suggesting a collective environment filled with mental unrest and confusion, urging patience in how we communicate both in person and in online forums.
Three of Pentacles – (Sign: Capricorn) – This card highlights teamwork, collaboration, and having shared goals as a community. This card calls for us to focus on building strong, lasting structures by working together and sharing responsibilities.
The Lovers – (Sign: Gemini,) – A card about choices, partnerships, and balance, this card can signify the need for alignment in relationships and decision-making. This week, our collective decisions on partnerships or cooperation will require careful thought and balance.
Interpretation:
The energy surrounding us this week is that of mental restlessness and the feeling of uncertainty, as seen in the Reversed Page of Swords. This tells me there is a strong likelihood of miscommunication within social and digital spaces, which can lead to confusion and impulsive reactions. In this broader context of our society, the reversed Page asks us to slow down in our communication and think things through before reacting. Double check facts.
The Three of Pentacles brings in a stabilizing force amidst this mental disruption. This is a time when if we work together, we can achieve great things. The energy of Capricorn is pushing for diligent, methodical action—no shortcuts. This tells me that success will come from collaboration. Share your knowledge, rely on each other’s skills, and remember that building something lasting takes time and effort. This card reminds us that real progress is made when we come together, each contributing our individual strengths toward a common vision.
The Lovers brings the message of choice and alignment to the forefront. Decisions involving relationships or partnerships will in focus this week, whether in personal connections, in relation to family, or social groups. With Gemini’s influence, you’ll need to consider both sides of a situation carefully. Rather than making impulsive decisions, take time to weigh your options and consider how your choices will impact not just yourself, but those around you. The Lovers remind us that unity and harmony can only be achieved when decisions are made with both the head and the heart.
Together, these cards reveal that the collective energy is one of mental chaos needing grounding. Miscommunication will run high, but teamwork and unity offer a powerful antidote. By building together and making thoughtful, balanced choices, we can move through the confusion and lay the foundation for long-term success and harmony.
Additional Tips for Star Signs:
Aquarius: Are you feeling mentally scattered or impatient right now? This card urges you to focus on slowing down. Before reacting, take a moment to gather your thoughts. Clear, deliberate communication will prevent misunderstandings, especially when working with others.
Capricorn: The Three of Pentacles speaks directly to your natural strengths in organization and leadership. Your ability to see the bigger picture and organize resources will help everyone move forward. Collaboration is your key to success—don’t hesitate to take charge and guide a group toward a shared goal.
Gemini: The Lovers card brings decisions to the forefront for you this week. Whether these involve personal relationships or group dynamics, this is a week to focus on making thoughtful choices. Your dual nature may feel pulled in different directions, but take the time to reflect before making any moves. Use your natural communication skills to bridge gaps and bring harmony to any situation that arises.

Why This Practice?
This breathwork exercise will help clear out any stuck or stagnant energy and help to make room for any fiery energy that the Full Moon in Aries can bring.
Benefits:
Relieves tension
Grounds your energy
Refocuses your mind
Instructions:
Find a comfortable spot to sit or stand.
Inhale deeply while slowly counting to four, hold your breath for four, then exhale slowly for six. I prefer to inhale from my nose and exhale from my mouth.
Repeat this for about five minutes, allowing each breath to calm and center you.
Do this anytime during the week, but especially before your Full Moon ritual, to prepare yourself for the powerful energy ahead.
🧂🌿 Witchy Tip of the Week: Charging Protective Salt with Herbs 🌿🧂
Why This Practice?
Salt is already a staple in protection work, but you can boost its effectiveness by adding herbs. For example rosemary, lavender, or thyme, are known for their protective qualities.
How to Charge It:
Combine your salt with herbs and hold them in your hands, visualizing a strong, protective barrier surrounding you.
Speak your intention aloud: "I charge this salt to guard and purify."
Use this charged salt around your home, sprinkling it along doorways or keeping small sachets in strategic spots to block out negative energy.
Add a sachet under your bed or pillow to ward off nightmares.
This practice is a simple yet powerful way to enhance your protective magic this week.
🐉 Nordic Roots & Wisdom: Trolldom 🐉
What is Trolldom?
I wanted to introduce you to my folk practice, Trolldom. Trolldom is an ancient Scandinavian magical practice that involves using everyday tools like herbs, iron, and fire to perform magic, rituals, healing and more. It’s a practice passed down through generations, and it’s deeply connected to nature. My family has passed this down over multiple generations, and I intend to pass this on to my son as well.
If you’re interested in learning more about Trolldom, let me know!
How to Incorporate Trolldom:
Try carrying a small, protective talisman like an iron nail or a pouch of earth. These were traditionally used in Norse magic to ward off negative energies and harmful spirits, keeping you safe as you move through the world.
Remember, this week is all about embracing your inner fire, taking bold action, and working together for the common good.
Until next time, stay magical! 🔮✨
